I was reading through the first sermon I preached at FUMC Borger. Towards the end of the sermon, these words caught my attention.
“There are a few things I can promise about our arranged time together. There will be times when we will share laughter and jokes, there will be times when we will cry together, and there will be times when we will push each other, theologically and in practical ministry. My desire is that when our time together comes to an end, that we can look each other in the eyes and say I love you. I hope we can say to each other that we learned from each other. I hope we can say to each other, you have impacted my life.”
I can say without a doubt, all of these hopes came true during our time together.
Church, thank you for the way you loved my family and I. Thank you for caring deeply about the mission of the church to make new and deeply rooted disciples of Jesus Christ.
So, until we meet again, may God continue to richly bless you as you serve Him with the deepest of commitments.
I love you all,
Pastor Bobby
